The High Court of Andhra Pradesh is the highest judicial authority in the State of Andhra Pradesh and serves as the principal court of law for the entire state. Located at Amaravati in Guntur District, the High Court plays a vital role in upholding the Constitution, protecting citizens’ rights, and ensuring the fair administration of justice. It hears civil, criminal, constitutional, and administrative cases from all districts of Andhra Pradesh.

The present Andhra Pradesh High Court was established on 1 January 2019 following the bifurcation of the erstwhile combined states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. After the reorganization, Amaravati was chosen as the judicial capital, and the High Court began functioning from its judicial complex at Nelapadu.

The court supervises all subordinate courts across Andhra Pradesh and ensures the effective delivery of justice. It consists of the Chief Justice and other judges who adjudicate matters related to constitutional law, public interest litigation, criminal appeals, civil disputes, service matters, and various legal issues affecting citizens and institutions.
